Pure Nickel Holed 10 Sen
Japan Mint records identify the 10 Sen nickel coin as a holed nickel issue produced from 1933 through 1937. Japan Mint historical material gives the type standard as 22 mm and 4 g and explains that the 1933 redesign adopted pure nickel so the metal could potentially be recovered for strategic use in an emergency.
