Japan Mint · Proof Coin Set History
Official explanation of Japanese proof coin sets and their annual production history.
Open reference ↗The 1993 Japan Standard Proof Set presents Japan’s six standard coin denominations in a specially prepared collector finish. Dated Heisei 5 (平成五年), the set is treated here as one collector product, with separate records for the six proof coins. This is an independent coin archive, not an official Japan Mint product page.
The six coins constitute the legal-tender component. Any non-denominated medal is a separate collector-set component, not a seventh coin. Japan Mint annual coin production totals do not equal the number of proof sets issued.
