United States Mint · June 5, 2000 Proof Set Announcement
Primary dated announcement: 10-coin regular set, five state designs, first proof Golden Dollar, and $19.95 launch price.
Open reference ↗In 2000, the United States Mint included the first Proof Sacagawea Golden Dollar in its annual standard proof set. The set includes a Kennedy half dollar, Roosevelt dime, Jefferson nickel, Lincoln Memorial cent, the Golden Dollar, and five different State Quarters. All 10 physical coins bear the S mint mark and were issued as regular (non-silver) collector proofs in two sealed display holders. This archive retains the established five denomination pages, while documenting the additional Golden Dollar in the dedicated section below.
Nine coins are covered by these five denomination pages (five quarters in one page). The tenth, Sacagawea Golden Dollar, is documented below to retain the requested five-page structure.
The 2000 annual set introduced the first Proof Golden Dollar. Its obverse depicts Sacagawea with her child Jean Baptiste (Glenna Goodacre); the original reverse features a soaring eagle surrounded by 17 stars (Thomas D. Rogers Sr.). It is golden-colored copper-alloy clad, not gold or silver.

The U.S. Mint annual report figure reflects an as-of date, not an assertion about the final lifetime quantity. The secondary Numista count is different and is presented as such. The standalone five-State-Quarter Proof Set and the Silver Proof Set are not combined into these figures.
